I was GChatting with my work wife today (yes, it’s ok to have secret, online interaction with adults while you teach) and she said something that struck me as both hilarious and insightful (a combination that isn’t actually that rare with her). She said:
In my next life, I’m going to be a comedian. It’s a shame I’m this witty and not getting paid for it.
SO true! No matter how bad of a day you’re having, always remember this: You have talents that are wasted on these kids. I mean, they will just never appreciate the fact that you make a killer grilled cheese, or that you can balance a basketball on top of your head.
And, that’s ok. You also have talents that are making you the best teacher they’ve ever had.
